Drug and alcohol abuse contribute to problems in the workplace and can also decrease productivity across work teams. This leads to rising costs, not only with workers compensation claims but increased health care claims, short term disability claims, and lost productivity.
Are you interested in ensuring your workers and prospective hires are not engaged in the use of alcohol, prescription drugs and illicit drugs while on the job? Frank Winston Crum Insurance Company (FWCI) can assist you in creating a Drug Free Workplace in accordance to your state’s guidelines.
Drug testing works best when implemented based on a written policy. The policy should be shared with all employees, along with education about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse. Supervisors need to be trained to recognize the signs and symptoms of alcohol and drug abuse. An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) should also be considered to provide help for employees who may have these problems.
FWCI in partnership with Total Compliance Network, will work with you to set up a program that will include various drug testing situations, including pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, random, and return to duty as well as other drug testing situations such as post rehabilitation testing.
