Frank Winston Crum Insurance Gets B++ Rating from AM Best

AM Best recently upgraded Frank Winston Crum Insurance’s (FWCI) outlook determination from “Stable” to “Positive," an indication of confidence in the company’s future stability.

AM Best, a worldwide authority, rates insurance companies on their financial strength, ability to pay claims, and the credit quality of their obligations. Its objective rating scale, ranging from A+ to D, is based on various factors such as balance sheet strength, operating performance, business profile, and enterprise risk management (ERM).

In addition to a financial rating, AM Best may also issue an outlook determination of “Positive,” “Negative,” or “Stable” to indicate a company’s likely performance over the next 36 months. A company that meets or exceeds a “Positive” outlook prediction has a good possibility of improving its financial strength rating.

July 28 is National Intern Day, and we're marking the day by paying homage to the talented group of summer interns we've been lucky enough to work alongside for the last few months. The current crop of interns come from a diversity of backgrounds, but all share in common a drive to better learn their chosen fields and get real-world experience that's priceless to someone starting out in a new career.

At Frank Winston Crum Insurance, our interns focus on risk management insurance (RMI). RMI Interns receive 18.5 hours of training within their first few days on topics such as general liability and workers' compensation basics and underwriting practices, risk and safety, claims and litigation, accounting and compliance, business development and marketing, and operations.

On Thursday, Oct. 21, members of the Frank Winston Crum Insurance (FWCI) team hit the links for the annual Pinellas Association of Insurance Agents (PAIA) golf tournament. FWCI was proud to be the Title Sponsor for this event, which welcomed more than 100 participants to the beautiful Bardmoor Golf and Country Club in Seminole, Florida. The tournament is a popular event for the local insurance community, offering a great opportunity for networking and friendly competition.

National Intern Day: Meet the Risk Management Insurance Interns

July 29 is National Intern Day, which makes this the perfect moment to celebrate the terrific interns we've been lucky enough to work alongside this summer!

Interns in the Risk Management Insurance (RMI) program with Frank Winston Crum Insurance received 18.5 hours of training within their first few days on topics such as GL and WC basics and underwriting practices, Risk and Safety, Claims and Litigation, Accounting and Compliance, Business Development and Marketing, and Operations.

Human Resources VP David Peasall has been working with faculty at USF, FIU, Barry University, and St. Pete College in the hunt for qualified candidates. David has attended virtual career/business fairs with these schools to meet interns and has been haunting school job boards in search of applicants. He also made personal contact at each school with specific key administrators to draw attention to our Intern Program through the school’s program leadership.

The FrankCrum family of companies is excited to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its founding. The brainchild of father-son duo Frank Crum Senior and Frank Crum Junior, The Great American Staffing Company (the forerunner to FrankCrum Staffing) was founded on June 17, 1981 in a small office off Ulmerton Road in Clearwater.

Great American’s success in the 1980s and ‘90s laid the groundwork for the modern incarnation of the company, which now encompasses staffing, PEO services (founded in 1986 as Ameristaff), a full-service insurance company (Frank Winston Crum Insurance, founded in 2003), and an insurance agency (FrankCrum Insurance Agency, founded in 2003). The multiple businesses serve clients nationwide.

Charitable Giving: Supporting Feeding Tampa Bay

The FrankCrum family of companies' association with Feeding Tampa Bay is a long-established point of pride among company employees. In addition to our ongoing "Jeans Day" donations, FrankCrum hosts an annual golf tournament, the proceeds from which go to Feeding Tampa Bay. Feeding Tampa Bay is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger in the 10-county area of West Central Florida. As part of the national Feeding America network, Feeding Tampa Bay provides food to those in need through a variety of programs and partnerships with local agencies, food pantries, and shelters.
